Incorporating Music Into Your Storytelling
Instructor: Reverend Robert Jones
If you play an instrument, or if you sing, you have a great tool that can enhance your ability to tell stories. Music can create a mood, act as a sound effect or even tell a story through a song. And who better to learn from than singer, songwriter, storyteller and award-winning multi-instrumentalist Reverend Robert Jones, Sr.
Rev Jones plays guitar, harmonica, mandolin, banjo and fiddle using folk, blues, spirituals and other American Roots music to champion the history, beauty and power of our shared culture. That makes him just the person to show you how a guitar, harmonica or mandolin can make a story more interesting. You don’t have to be master musician either, in storytelling rhythm is often more important than melody. Bring your instrument and your imagination.
